Cory Barlog receives threats on social networks and God of War’s father comes out to defend him

David Jaffe says he would not tolerate that treatment for even a second.

The toxicity to game developers has been intermittent discussion topic over recent years, but especially in recent weeks, and the new victim of the hostility was the director of God of War, Cory Barlog who, just on Tuesday, He received threats from a Twitter follower who warned he would look for him on the street if the developer spoiled the story of the next instalment of the saga.

“I’m not kidding, if you mess up God of War 5 with all that unnecessary crap that Cuckman (Neil Druckman) did, we’re going to find and assault you in real life. I’m not playing games, just make a good game with a decent storyline, that’s all we ask for. You don’t need to please anyone, “

to which God of War director Cory Barlog replied with a simple

“Really?”

Well, David Jaffe, who is recognized as the father of the God of War franchise, and has years out of the big studios, came to the defence of Barlog, who he described as too kind and suggested the user, in the most hostile way possible, don’t buy the game if you don’t like it.

“How nice that I’m not the director of God of War anymore (save your insults, cab *** s!) Because I wouldn’t be as kind as Cory! I would kick this piece of shit out ** every day. I would. Sin. Stop. You motherfucker **, if you don’t like a game, don’t buy it. It’s a huge power, but it’s the only power you have, “he said.

What the Twitter follower refers to with “Cuckman” is another game, whose developers have been the target of threats from the community, due to its plot: The Last of Us: Part 2. Just last week, a of the actresses involved in the project denounced abundant verbal attacks on social networks for their role in the history of the game, although it is not the only one.
