Outriders Insists: It Does Not Have A PvP, And There Are No Plans For It

The new People Can Fly game, Outriders will have multiplayer, but strictly a cooperative one – PVP won’t be part of the multiplayer experience.

Although Outriders have often been compared to ‘looter shooters’ like Destiny or The Division, it certainly seems like the People Can Fly team has in mind an approach much more like an action RPG, only with loot in between. It will reject the game-as-a-service model, favor solitary players, and again insist that competitive multiplayer is not part of the equation — it simply does not fit the type of game we are dealing with.

Speaking to Well Played, director Bartek Kmita explains, “There are no plans to add PvP to Outriders right now. We talked about it at an early stage of development, of course, but decided early on that we wanted a PvE-focused experience for Outriders ” one more idea along the lines of Warframe or even Diablo, as previously stated, although both have a (debatable) PvP mode for those who are interested.

PvP was debated and discarded early in development

“[This approach] allows us to do crazy things with incredible abilities, have an open character progression system where players can be super creative with their specializations, and focus on creating a great campaign, full of content and secondary activities”

Outriders does not yet have an exact release date, but is expected to hit PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X in late 2020, as well as Google Stadia.
