The term can be interpreted by the reader as they wish.
Succubus is Agony‘s spin-off, which is developed by Madmind Studio, and unlike Agony, you have to actively combat the demons here and not just focus on stealth. The game will have a weapon wheel like a lot of recent games, plus there’s a rage meter, not to mention the kick that seems to be the same as the one used in Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, but it’s not that effective when Vydija, our protagonist, uses it. Hopefully, her name wasn’t inspired by nVidia. She is described as a „demonic priestess of lust” on a revenge mission to defeat all demons that get in her way.
You can kick the enemies into spikes, and you can climb walls with QTEs. If you don’t find any place to hang onto, you have to look around with the mouse, and you can’t even fail at it. And there’s no fall damage either. The combat lacks power, and you can’t even correctly estimate the distance of your kick either, but you can at least do a slow-motion attack by charging forward and then kicking someone. These aren’t the main problem – these are just technical issues.
Succubus cannot be described in any other way than as an edgelord game. It tries to be disgusting for the sake of being disgusting. You can tear a fetus out from a woman to eat its blood for HP. You can tear off the jaw of a guy, then do the same thing with his penis and stomp it. You can also even see a demonic, big-headed baby getting fed by… well, we can’t describe it in any other way, but excrement. The game goes too far, and the horroristic experience is more of a joke at this rate.
Succubus has no release date at the moment. It’s in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You can find the PC demo on Steam. There’s a difference between dark and cringe. Scorn is on the right path, we have seen it in Scorn. Anyway, here’s an uncensored video of the demo, and it indeed is uncensored.
