Call of Duty 2020 – Cold War Themed Website Launched

A secret website related to Call of Duty 2020 has come to life, which seems to justify the Cold War era as the game’s setting.

The advertising campaign for the announcement of Call of Duty 2020 is in full swing. As we reported a few days ago, Activision began to give clues about the new game recently, through mysterious images and a secret web page that has come to life and where an extensive video is played, which seems to confirm the Cold War as the setting for the FPS of this year.

The website: pawntakespawn.com/tv

It shows a desk with a telephone, a television, a VCR, and a cassette that can be inserted into the VCR, and activates a long video composed of news clips from the 1960s, featuring stories about the Cold War, the space race, the Vietnam War and, true to the concept of Black Ops, numbers without context, both on-screen and in the player itself.

The cassette is labelled “1961-1962 v.1” and its content lasts for about 10 minutes, at which point it rewinds and starts again. Presumably, then, there will be more videos and more information as the days go by.

Thanks to Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, we have known since the spring of this year that Call of Duty 2020 aims to be a reboot of the Black Ops saga with its debut scheduled for the fall, despite the health crisis and a marked delay in its revelation. Not only that, but the journalist also revealed, since the middle of last year, that the development would be the responsibility of Treyarch and not Sledgehammer Games as a symptom of crisis within the development team. A couple of weeks ago, Activision itself confirmed Treyarch and Raven Software as producers of the game.
