The company based in Redmond might pull something big to end 2020 on a high note – and let’s just say that this year has been quite rough altogether.
Microsoft likes to keep a big move up its sleeve for The Game Awards. Remember what they revealed last year? Phil Spencer showcased the design of the Xbox Series X a year ago. And this trend might continue into 2020 if we can believe VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb: he claims that there will be some sort of an announcement by Xbox. However, he did not go into details, so he either knows barely more than us, or he cannot talk more than that yet.
Xbox Game Pass‘ Twitter account (we keep calling it simply Game Pass… and we’re sure we are not alone with it) also said that they might have something in store for us. And going by the silhouette, we suspect that Capcom’s Ace Attorney series might join Microsoft’s subscription service that has over ten million subscribers. We recently discussed what the December updates are for the Game Pass, including Doom Eternal on PC and Control on consoles.
What about Halo Infinite? 343 Industries and Microsoft said that they don’t plan to provide us with an update during The Game Awards, but regarding Master Chief’s next adventures, we do know that a high-level update is going to happen shortly, possibly in early 2021. Will it be about new acquisitions? Well, we have also discussed how SEGA and Microsoft seem to slowly align, and it could be a possible move if Microsoft – who has nearly endless money via Windows and Office… – has enough money in its wallet after buying Bethesda.
The Game Awards will be broadcasted on December 10, at 3:30 PM Pacific, so Europeans will have to stay up after midnight if they want to see it live.
