The streaming service that has been available for a year in many countries now expanded a bit more in Europe – Google doesn’t give up.
„We created Stadia to make great games more accessible. You don’t need to buy new hardware because Stadia works with the things you already own: laptops, desktops, compatible phones and tablets, and popular game controllers. And Stadia works instantly, without waiting for your games to download or update.
Now millions more people can play games on Stadia as it becomes available in eight new European countries. If you’re in Austria, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia or Switzerland, you can easily sign up at Stadia.com. Access to Stadia in all these countries rolls out over the next 24 hours,” Google’s press release, quoted by WCCFTech, reads.
Now, the works instantly comment is something we’d like to address: the consoles nowadays can update and download games while in standby mode, so this excerpt is just shoddy marketing on Google’s end. Also, the new Chromecast model doesn’t support Stadia yet, which is inexplicable, to say the least. Also, if Stadia goes down, the access to the games that you might have purchased is gone. So the service is far from being perfect.
The new users can enjoy a free month of Stadia Pro subscription, which includes access to a few games, such as Hitman 2, Hello Neighbor: Secret Neighbor, Into the Breach, Kine, Monster Jam Steel Titans, and Everspace. There are also two brand new Google Stadia exclusives bundled with the subscription, Splash Damage’s Outcasters and Uppercut Games’ Submerged: Hidden Depths. It usually goes for ten dollars or euros per month.
But even if you have a fast Internet connection, Stadia’s servers might do the job, yes, but there might be an input lag, ruining the experience altogether…
