Despite adding more than a dozen Bethesda-published games to the Xbox Game Pass (as Microsoft now fully owns the company), the Redmond folks announced another update wave to the subscription service.
From March 16, Undertale (console – Xbox Series, Xbox One; PC, cloud) is available. On March 18 Empire of Sin (console, PC, cloud, indie title – ID@Xbox), NieR: Automata (PC), Star Wars: Squadrons (console – EA Play; Ultimate subscription required), and Torchlight III (PC) joins the service. On March 25, Genesis Noir (console, PC – ID@Xbox), Octopath Traveler (console, PC), Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire – Ultimate Edition (PC – ID@Xbox), Supraland (PC – ID@Xbox), and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life (console, PC, cloud) gets added, followed by Narita Boy (console, PC, cloud – ID@Xbox) on March 30 and by the recently confirmed addition, Outriders (console, cloud) on April 1, respectively. Let’s not forget about the departures: on March 31, Hyperdot (console, PC), Journey to the Savage Planet (console), and Machinarium (PC) leave Game Pass.
DLC-wise, Microsoft mentions the free Minecraft x Uniqlo Skin Pack, Vol.2; the third anniversary event of Sea of Thieves (March 18-21), and you can get The Outer Worlds’ Murder on Eridanos DLC with a 10% discount. The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks include a monthly weapon charm in Apex Legends, starting with Mass Effect N7 in March; but you can also get the Doc Byte Set in Rainbow Six Siege until April 5, and World of Tanks’ Legend of War pack until March 31, respectively. The Xbox Game Pass Quests have 4x points for Ultimate quests. Get 200 for vanquishing three zombies or plants in Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, or another 200 in Dragon Age: Inquisition (which is available through EA Play) for slaying 15 enemies in single-player mode (the latter will be available from March 23).
Microsoft also announced that from March 18, EA Play is available on Xbox Game Pass for PC. You don’t need an Ultimate subscription here unlike on consoles. To access the 60+ EA-published titles on Windows 10, you need to get the EA Desktop app, create an EA account (or login to your existing one), link your Xbox and EA accounts, and then, you’ll be ready to access the games.
Microsoft is emphasizing its subscription service, and it shows, doesn’t it?
