An age rating is just one part of the story regarding developments around Ghost of Tsushima, one of the last major PlayStation 4-exclusive titles.
A few days ago, Sony has registered the domain for the website of Ghost of Ikishima, which, at the moment, just redirects us to the official PlayStation website. It hints at that Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE onwards) and Sucker Punch might be handling Ghost of Tsushima the same way SIE and Naughty Dod did with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, as in giving the game a standalone expansion (which, in Uncharted’s case, was Uncharted: The Lost Legacy).
Rumours claim that Sony is preparing a PlayStation Experience (PSX) event for July 8. This might be the first time we will see gameplay of the next God of War game (likely named God of War: Ragnarok, confirmed to be a cross-gen title). This isn’t official yet, so we will have to wait a bit for more details.
But we have a suspicion that SIE might be packaging Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Ikishima together. The reason why we believe it is because ESRB, the American equivalent of PEGI, has rated Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut for both PlayStation 4 and… PlayStation 5?! Sony can no longer deny that their nearly one-year-old game is now preparing for two console generations. Let’s hope that Ghost of Ikishima (if it will be part of Director’s Cut…) will not skip the PlayStation 4, just like how the Yuffie DLC has done in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.
Interesting tidbit: there is another Director’s Cut game in development for PlayStation 5. Kojima Productions is working on this version of Death Stranding for the new Sony console. It might be part of Sony’s strategy. All we can wait now is to wait once more, as the ESRB doesn’t rate games that do not exist.
