PREVIEW – If you’re eagerly awaiting Forza Horizon 5, you’ve come to the right place! Map, number of cars, game size… We review the Xbox and PC exclusive shortly before its release.
When will Forza Horizon 5 be released and on which platforms?
You don’t have to wait much longer to get your hands on Forza Horizon 5, this year’s most anticipated racing game. The title will be available from November 9 for PC and Xbox One, and of course, Xbox Series X|S. As a reminder, players who pre-order the Ultimate version will access the game from November 5.
Where does the game take place?
Forza Horizon 5 takes players on a journey to Mexico, where they can explore a variety of diverse maps. The map is up to 50% larger than the fourth part and contains 11 different zones. You can find dry canyons, tropical beaches, lush jungle, rocky areas, sandy desert, swamps, fields, the city of Guanajuato and a gigantic volcano.
How many events will there be in the game?
As in Forza Horizon 4, this fifth episode will feature a wide range of optional activities in the “menu”, this time in Forza Adventure mode, the main adventure of the new episode. In this episode, your goal is obviously to reach the Hall of Fame, that is, to become Mexico’s most decorated driver. To do this, you’ll need to succeed in road races, off-road races, expeditions, stunt shows, or find cars hidden in various tricky places. You need between 10 and 20 hours of game time to complete the adventure, which can also be played in co-op. And don’t forget that participants can also compete against other players in online tournaments, including the Forza Arcade, which replaces Forzathon, and freely explore the open world.
How many cars will be available at launch?
At launch, racers will be able to take possession of around 500 cars. Among them will be 30 Porsches, including the 2020 Taycan Turbo S, several Audis, Ferraris and vehicles from the world of movies. There is, for example, the DeLorean DMC-12 from Back to the Future and the Aston Martin Valhalla from the latest James Bond film, No Time to Die.
What music will be in the game?
Like GTA, Forza Horizon 5 will also feature a number of radio stations (6 in total). These will feature world hits and Mexican music. You can count on the presence of Dua Lipa’s “Levitating”, Diamante Eléctrico’s “Suéltame, Bogotá”, Sotomayor’s “Fiebre” or Centavrvs’ “El Punto Final”.
Will the game harness the power of Xbox X|S consoles?
Forza Horizon 5 looks great, plus it takes full advantage of the power of Microsoft’s latest machines. There are two display modes on both the X and S series. On the Series X, the Quality mode allows for a 4K display, finer visuals; the game runs at 30 fps, and you can even enjoy ray-tracing in the player’s garage. Performance mode also runs in 4K at 60 fps. Unfortunately, ray-tracing is no longer included in this mode. Two display modes are available for the Series S. The first, in 1080p, runs at 30fps but has ray-tracing in the garage, while the second, also in 1080p, has no ray-tracing but takes advantage of 60 fps.
