Enad Global 7, led by the creator of City of Heroes, is working on a blockbuster game using Marvel licenses.
Marvel is going all out to promote its superhero universe: after conquering the cinema for the past decade, it’s now the turn of video games. Projects such as Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man, which is awaiting a sequel, Marvel’s Avengers or the recently released Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy are just some of the titles that have adapted their universe.
But fans of Captain America, Iron Man and the Hulk should be in luck, as we’ve learned from Enad Global 7’s latest investor briefing that they are working on a multiplayer online game based on the Marvel franchises, being developed by Dimensional Ink Studios and directed by Jack Emmert, co-founder of Cryptic Studios.
Emmert was the development lead on City of Heroes but has also been at the helm of DC Universe Online for more than a decade. The development of the new MMO comes after several cancelled and abandoned projects. The approximate arrival date for the game is unknown, although we can guess that it is set to be a major blockbuster.
In the meantime, DC Universe Online has confirmed that it is investing heavily in graphics upgrades, and a content expansion is expected to arrive in 2023. The game, which celebrated its tenth birthday this year, was released for Nintendo Switch in 2019 to an enthusiastic reception from the public.
