Jessica Gonzalez tweeted her departure from Activision Blizzard with a harsh farewell message
Activision Blizzard continues to suffer an earthquake that has already cracked the company’s image, and while the multiple allegations of sexual harassment have been transformed into an economic consequence, it is now the employees who are beginning to look to other horizons. This is the case of Jessica Gonzalez, who has decided to leave the company and move away from video game development. And she communicates this to the rest of the workers with a message in which she also sends warnings to Bobby Kotick.
“It has been a journey that has lasted years, and I have made the decision to leave Blizzard putting my well-being first. I have accepted an opportunity that is too good to turn down,” Gonzalez explains in the statement shared on Twitter, where he also encourages his colleagues to continue the fight. “Let your passion and the passion of the people around you create the spark that will initiate meaningful change. I believe in the good people in this company and I can’t wait to see how far you can take it .”
At the end of his message, Gonzalez takes the opportunity to send a message to the company’s CEO and warns him of the consequences of his actions: “To Bobby Kotick: Your inaction and refusal to take accountability is driving out great talent, and the products will suffer until you are removed from your position as CEO. This may seem harsh, but you had years to fix the culture and look at where the company currently stands.”

After all, the situation at Activision Blizzard has rippled through the gaming community. While Bobby Kotick has made promises regarding his departure and some shareholders have called for his resignation, the CEO has yet to step down. Therefore, as Gonzalez says in his statement, it remains to be seen how Activision Blizzard’s next games will develop in this turbulent context.
