Dying Light 2 Completes Development But Techland’s Zombie Action Still Has Work Ahead Of It

Dying Light 2 achieve Gold status two months before the game’s release

There are still a few months to go before we can enjoy the promising Dying Light 2 at home, but the team at Techland have already done their homework and have just announced that they have completed development on the highly anticipated open-world action-horror adventure. “We’re really excited about this, and now we can feel it really happening,” said lead game designer Tymon Smektala.

After so many years of hard work, we are proudly looking forward to the release of Dying Light 2 Stay Human,” he added. However, having achieved Gold status doesn’t mean Techland will be sitting on its hands until 4 February. “The game is ready to be made, but we’re not slowing down […] that the game is finished two months before release is a great sign, but it doesn’t mean our work ends here. There are still some improvements and tweaks to be added,” he adds in his official statement. The Polish studio also responsible for Dead Island will use these weeks to take good note of the community’s feedback, although “the base is solid” and the everybody is “very proud of the whole team”.

As a curiosity, in recent weeks, Techland has also let slip that it plans a cooperative in Dying Light 2 with different character classes, although for now, it is an idea that has not taken shape. As a reminder, the game is scheduled for release on PC, next-gen consoles, PS4 and Xbox One, as well as Nintendo Switch via cloud play.
