The iconic Gran Turismo track presentation is built around a fun easter egg.
Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo saga arrived on the PlayStation over two decades ago with a unique driving experience that quickly won over millions of fans worldwide. This time, Gran Turismo 7 has sought to bring back the more classic formula to celebrate its 25th anniversary, but it hasn’t given up on the new additions that come with Gran Turismo Sport.
Among these classic elements is one of the most iconic tracks, Deep Forest Raceway, which was showcased in a gameplay video after being hidden in the new episode by an easter egg. The behind-the-scenes video, titled “Starting Line,” featured a series of glowing lines in various scenes that appeared to be a simple aesthetic device but depicted the layout of different parts of the track.
Deep Forest Raceway was featured in all games in the series except Gran Turismo Sport.
The official Gran Turismo account shared various pieces of the puzzle, which featured a silhouette of the famous track. The Deep Forest Raceway has been a constant in gamers’ lives since the first instalment of the series, appearing in every title in the franchise except Sport.
The track is characterised by being set in a densely populated forest, has a straight start and is located on the edge of a large cliff, and features several tunnels, another classic feature of the franchise’s original tracks. The beautiful scenery and the difficulty of mastering the course have made Deep Forest Raceway one of the most popular maps among fans. On top of all of this, Polyphony has also unveiled the game’s official steering wheel, which is powerful and will undoubtedly put quite a strain on the wallets of the most avid fans.
