The Next Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla DLC Leaks

Ahead of the official announcement, we’re already hearing rumours about the next content update for the latest Assassin’s Creed, which has been out for over a year now.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla has often been a victim of major leaks. For example, half an hour of gameplay, and a bossfight, leaked onto the internet before release… So Ubisoft is not very familiar with the concept of ‘security’ (and many other things, such as really meeting the needs of gamers; Quartz, their NFT, was not very well received, we wrote about it yesterday), and that’s putting it mildly.

The DLC, called Dawn of Ragnarök, has also started to be talked about by a French YouTuber and now we can find out more information through Chinese shops. There are pictures, but in this case the French publisher would most likely start threatening us for daring to publish pictures… but we’ll take it.

We’ll give you the release date, and Yves Guillemot’s team can go to warmer climes: the DLC is leaked to arrive on March 11, which coincides with Tom Henderson, who also wrote that a major content addition will be coming in the first month of spring.

From Reddit, we’ve learned that Dawn of Ragnarok will be set in “the magnificent Nine Realms in the mythology of North.” Svartalfheim, the home of the dwarves, would be under threat (attacked by frost and fire giants), and Eivor will “personally experience the fate of Odin.” Children must be rescued urgently, and the new supernatural power of lightning will be called upon. Ubisoft’s senior community developer Karen Lee hinted at this during Ubisoft Forward’s E3 event in June, said “something tells me that Eivor is not done with Odin yet”, while showing off the gates of Muspelheim, the home of the fire giants.

If that’s true (and why wouldn’t it be?), then Assassin’s Creed takes a mythological turn after the previous DLC (Siege of Paris), as the previous one has taken a much more historically authentic direction. Ubisoft is also expected to make an announcement on Monday…
