The Highly Anticipated Trailer For Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore Has Arrived! [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – Warner Bros. has released the trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, starring Jude Law, Mads Mikkelsen and Eddie Redmayne.

The trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which has been months in the making, has finally arrived, promising another action-packed adventure set in J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world. The trailer finally gives us a closer look at Mads Mikkelsen, who replaces Johnny Depp as the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is the third part of Warner Bros’ planned five-part Fantastic Beasts series, which will serve as a prequel to the Harry Potter films. Franchise regular David Yates directs the film from a script by J.K. Rowling and Steve Kloves.

The film will pick up immediately after 2018’s The Crimes of Grindelwald if all is true. Jude Law returns as Albus Dumbledore, Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone, Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski and Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein.

But the significant change is that Mads Mikkelsen replaces Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald.

The studio reportedly sacked Depp shortly after losing a libel case against The Sun for calling him a “wife-beater” in 2018. Depp claimed that he resigned from the role at the request of Warner Bros. and received a significant portion of his salary. Amid fan outcry, Mikkelsen was announced as Depp’s replacement, and significant changes were made to the character’s look and demeanour. Grindelwald no longer has white hair and moustache, and his eyes are the same colour. Mikkelsen has previously said that he would not base his character on Johnny Depp or Colin Farrell. It will be interesting to see what he can bring to the role of the dreaded dark wizard Grindelwald.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will also star Callum Turner, William Nadylam, Poppy Corby-Tuech, Jessica Williams, Victoria Yeates, Richard Coyle and Oliver Masucci.

As for the trailer, it is full of many exciting moments and promises more wizarding creatures and wizard duels. There’s even time for some Hogwarts-related nostalgia…

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is due to premiere in the UK on 8 April and worldwide on 15 April.
