It is a new type of shiny paint for vehicles that have been discovered in the GTA 5 data
Grand Theft Auto V is one of the most important video games in history, both in terms of industry and social impact. Rockstar’s title has been the most-watched game of 2021 after eight years since its official release two console generations ago and is set to arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series in a couple of months after being delayed.
We know relatively little about these new versions, only that they will look to run at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second and bring a number of new features beyond visual enhancements and instant character switching. But a recent leak corresponding to the game’s data leaves us with one more detail that we didn’t know until now.
YouTube channel MrBossFTW lets us see a new feature that will be part of this expanded and improved version. It’s about special vehicle paints that change colour depending on the lighting and camera angle. They glow differently and would be unique to the new generation.
The user has been able to see a total of 16 different paints that would be categorised as ‘chameleon’ and support different gradients. If you’re wondering how he could access them, it turns out that his files have been included in current versions of the game for Rockstar to, in theory, privately test them.
Pending more minor additions, these enhanced versions of GTA V are coming to PS5 and Xbox X Series X|S in March, with high performance on the next-gen consoles and a GTA Online that continues to receive a wealth of content on a regular basis. The latest update is The Contract, which brings global music stars such as Dr. Dre and Rosalia to the game in addition to their missions.
