Pure Magic: Hogwarts Legacy Has Released A Spectacular Gameplay Trailer [VIDEO]

Avalanche’s much-anticipated Harry Potter video game, Hogwarts Legacy, lands under this year’s Christmas tree.

With virtually no news of Hogwarts Legacy since its announcement in 2020, it was a real treat to see yesterday’s State of Play, which featured this Harry Potter video game as the sole protagonist, and which was introduced in a gameplay sequence lasting around 20 minutes. Thanks to that, we now had a little more insight into what the new game from Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. has to offer.

Taking classes and exploring will allow us to learn and develop new spells.

After a long absence of any Hogwarts Legacy-related news, this extensive gameplay was the perfect opportunity to explore in detail this action-adventure that seems to be a love letter to the universe created by J.K. Rowling. From visiting the clocks to the many mysteries hidden in Hogwarts to the magical duels to the puzzles and mini-games, Avalanche Software’s game doesn’t seem to miss out on the elements that have made the world of Harry Potter a favourite with fantasy fans.

Once you’ve created your young wizard, male or female, you’re free to move around the school as one of the four great houses of magic that make up Hogwarts. The action in Hogwarts Legacy is not confined to the walls of the colossal castle; however, as we also explore the outside world, where we are faced with a multitude of seemingly vast scenarios in which we must tackle all manner of dangers. And that brings us to the battle.

There will be puzzles, exploration, plenty of combat and even stealth.

Our mage will have a wealth of exciting spells to defend himself against wizards and legendary sorcerers. From the looks of things, it seems that Hogwarts Legacy will have no shortage of options when it comes to combat: dodges, counterattacks, elemental spells, and even stealth to surprise the enemy.

Exploring the world of Harry Potter will be rewarded in this adventure. Attending classes, delving into the secret passages of Hogwarts or winning mini-games and other skill challenges will allow us to learn new skills and improve existing ones, just like an RPG. There will also be collectables and chests where we can acquire new and better magical equipment to survive the dangers that await us.

Hogwarts Legacy will be released at Christmas 2022.

Thanks to a new teaser video, we got to see the teachers and classmates accompanying us on this adventure set in the late 1800s, so the castle will be similar to what we remember, but with different characters than in the books/movies. Still, we will cross paths with some familiar faces. The story? Goblins and a band of wizards will be some of the main adversaries we’ll have to contend with within the game, which seems to have neglected storytelling, to say the least, diving even deeper into the Harry Potter universe.

We even got to see the protagonist travel on a flying broomstick through beautiful landscapes that cry out to be explored. As if all this wasn’t enough, the game also offers a space in which you can create your own home, further expanding the customisation possibilities of the adventure.

We won’t have to wait much longer for Hogwarts Legacy if all is true, as it’s promised for release this Christmas.
