Following the port of GTA 5 to next-gen (which is already topping the charts, see below), Rockstar is once again looking to strengthen the online experience.
Rockstar is targeting the new generation of consoles. Just a few days ago, it brought us GTA 5 and GTA Online for PS5 and Xbox Series, adding several graphical improvements to the game initially released in 2013. However, the developer doesn’t want to stop there: they’ve just announced GTA+: an exclusive subscription for users of those platforms.
According to a press release from Rockstar, the new subscription will be available from 29 March and will offer players unprecedented benefits.
GTA+ members will receive GTA$500,000 per month in their Maze Bank account but will also have the opportunity to purchase real estate in and around Los Santos. Users will get all this and more for €5.99 per month.
Meanwhile, GTA+ members will enjoy exclusive rewards every month, including special vehicle upgrades, discounts, GTA$ and RP bonuses and much more. As for what’s new for the first month from 29 March to 27 April, Rockstar has the following to offer:
- 500,000 GTA$ automatically deposited into your Maze Bank account.
- The Prince Deveste Eight, with Hao’s Special Works upgrade before it becomes available to the public, and the orange Flipe and CMYK Distortion decks.
- The Workshop in La Mesa, which provides access to various content updates from Los Santos Tuners. Workshop owners can move to La Mesa for free.
- Suspension of LS Car Meet fees. Current LS Car Meet members with a GTA+ program will receive a refund of GTA$50,000 during the event.
- Yacht owners can upgrade to the Aquarius superyacht at no extra charge.
- A Gusset t-shirt and Broker Prolaps t-shirt and basketball shorts will automatically be added to your wardrobe.
- Mammoth Avenger, HVY APC and TM-02 Khanjali transporter cover.
- Free selection of paints and emblems in the workshop.
- 3X GTA$ and RP in the Hao’s Special Works series.
- 2X Car Meeting Fame in the city racing series.
To get the rewards, simply visit Legendary Motorsports, Hao’s Special Works, Maze Bank Foreclosures, DockTease and other Grand Theft Auto Online stores. It’s worth noting that GTA+ subscribers can also enjoy regular updates and bonuses for GTA Online.
So it’s clear that Rockstar wants to continue to pamper users attracted to GTA Online’s features. And they are not a few, as Grand Theft Auto V and its online mode have become the most viewed game of 2021, and even…
GTA 5 next-gen conquers Britain
At the beginning of February, we learned how GTA 5 had sold more than 160 million copies in just over a year, almost half of the entire Grand Theft Auto saga. However, Rockstar isn’t satisfied with that figure, and it seems they want to push their 2013 release further, as its arrival on the next-gen has boosted sales in the UK.
As Gamesindustry shares in its weekly Top Weekly…
…GTA 5 became the second-biggest debut of the year in terms of digital sales, just behind the successful Elden Ring.
From Software’s adventure was dethroned in this sense by Rockstar’s next-gen graphics creation, while Grand Theft Auto Online (which made the list thanks to sales recorded on the Xbox Series) also came in a very respectable position.
