Rebellion used an entire trailer to showcase what weapons we can use in the next Sniper Elite instalment.
In a press release, Rebellion Developments CEO Jason Kingsley said, “Sniper Elite has always been defined by its authentic gunplay. We have concentrated on enhancing the character and feel of our weapons, including adding an ‘Ironsights’ perspective for pistols and secondary weapons such as SMGs. We wanted to take that to the next level for Sniper Elite 5.
Having conducted thousands of hours of playtests throughout the franchise, it is clear that everyone plays the game in their unique way. We have developed the new Weapon Customization system, allowing players to adapt their weapons to best suit the way they play and ensure that everyone enjoys the experience,” Kingsley said.
And Rebellion described what we can expect in customization: “Sniper Elite 5 features a comprehensive suite of weaponry with the most customization and attachments ever seen in the franchise’s history. With over 200 options, including scopes, suppressors, stocks, muzzle breaks, materials and more, snipers will be able to adjust their loadout to suit their playstyle and the objectives they face in each mission.
Weapon Attachments and Customization Options are primarily unlocked by finding Workbenches within each level. As different elements are added, removed or adapted, the changes will be reflected in four key weapon stats: Power, Rate of Fire, Control and Mobility. A stealthy player may want to opt for Power and Rate of Fire at the cost of Control and Mobility due to their systematic approach, while the opposite will be valid for a more “run-and-gun” style player.”
As we previously mentioned, Sniper Elite 5 will launch on May 26 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It will also be part of (Xbox) Game Pass. Two weeks ago, we also mentioned the pre-order bonuses: “Players who pre-order Sniper Elite 5 will also receive the latest mission of the “Target Führer” campaign entitled “Wolf Mountain.” Players will infiltrate the Berghof, Hitler’s private mountain retreat in the Bavarian Alps, crawling with heavily armed personal guards and a slew of collectables for eagle-eyed snipers. They are tasked with taking down the Führer in the most imaginative way possible. Additionally, those who pre-order will receive the P.1938 Suppressed Pistol. This powerful handgun is a must-have for covert operations based on a Special Forces experimental prototype.”
