Rebellion has confirmed that Sniper Elite 5, which is in development, will be released in May.

Sniper Elite 5, the new numbered instalment in the franchise in which you play a sniper soldier, will be released for PC, PlayStation and Xbox at the end of next month. Rebellion is of course encouraging pre-orders, so there seems to be no need to worry about delays. The studio has confirmed in a message posted on its official Twitter account that the game is now gold, meaning that development is complete. Still to come are the steps that a new game must go through before it hits stores. The post thanks the studio for their “incredible” work and looks forward to seeing how gamers will react.

Sniper Elite 5 is a third-person shooter action game with a focus on tactical combat. Armed with a sniper rifle, you’ll have an enhanced killing tool at your disposal and some of the most challenging terrain to date. The maps are set in real locations, allowing you to explore 1944 France at the height of World War II.

Sniper Elite 5 has a release date of 26 May for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox X Series X|S, and will be available for the first time on Xbox Game Pass.
