Nacon and Rogue Factor have released a trailer for Hell is Us,  the new game in development under the creative direction of Jonathan Jacques-Belletête (Deus Ex and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy).

Nacon Games and Rogue Factor (Necromunda: Underhive Wars) today unveiled the first trailer for Hell is Us, a third-person action-adventure game set in a semi-open world where the protagonist sets out to learn more about his past in a country ravaged by civil war. The game will be released in 2023 for PC, PS5 and Xbox X Series X|S and will feature a graphics engine based on Unreal Engine 5.

The project has been in development for several years and its creative director is Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, whose credits include Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and most recently Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Hell is Us is quite strong in its setting, as can be seen in the first images released by the makers, which show giant swords and a creepy world, where no one would go for a vacation. In more detail, Rogue Factor explains that HiU is aiming for a new genre where players explore the environment to find information on their own.

“Our aim is to bring back the real adventure and exploration”, explains Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, “There is no need for a detailed mission log or precise waypoints on the map; we want players to feel the thrill of the adventure, guided by their emotions and instincts.”

The production takes the player to a land full of supernatural creatures. Only a player properly armed for the situation will be able to defeat these creatures in one of the most ambitious projects in Nacon’s history. Here is the new trailer:
