Just this Wednesday, the official Twitter account of the saga published a video comparing the sound of the weapons that the improved version will bring. The studio claims that fans were unhappy with the noise made when firing some of them, so they have modified the audio for the Plasma Cutter and the Pulse Rifle:
“On the Pulse Rifle, you can now hear that the sound is a bit more chaotic and not as dry as in the previous version,” its makers expand on Reddit. “There’s a bit more volume in the environment’s reaction and more responsive impacts on surfaces”. In addition, the team wanted to thank users for their feedback and comments, demonstrating with this gesture that it is truly important to them.
Notably, this remake of Visceral Games’ classic sci-fi and space horror game will be rebuilt from the ground up to take advantage of the benefits of next-gen consoles and PC, leveraging new visuals, audio and controls powered by the Frostbite game engine to raise the level of horror and immersion to unprecedented levels for the franchise.
So far, we know the confirmed platforms are PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox X Series X|S, but as for its release date, it’s set to arrive sometime in 2023.
