Blizzard has revealed the new content coming soon to the classic World of Warcraft MMORPG.
Along with the unveiling of the new World of Warcraft expansion, a new chapter was revealed that expands the world of WoW Classic, and it’s the highly acclaimed Wrath of the Lich King, one of the most highly rated and memorable episodes of the MMORPG for fans.
The expansion, initially released in 2008, takes us to the cold lands of Northrend, where the Lich King reigns supreme and is confronted in one of the most emotional and spectacular endings in the saga. New to Wrath of the Lich King was the introduction of the Death Knight class and the Inscription profession, which allows the creation of mystical glyphs that modify spell and ability properties.
The expansion brings back the group dungeons that fans remember most.
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic is a faithful reflection of the MMO that millions of players around the world fell in love with nearly a decade and a half ago, bringing back formidable opponents in fan-favourite party dungeons like Azjol-Nerub and the Naxxramas raid. There will be a few changes from the original: for example, Blizzard introduces an instant level up to level 70 to start the adventure at the top, even if you haven’t played the Burning Crusade Classic expansion.
It also confirms that there will be no dungeon finder, even though it was added to the game with patch 3.3.5. “Our Classic community has made it clear to us that the community aspect and in-game bonds are an essential part of the WoW Classic experience, and we agree,” said the Diablo series creators. On the other hand, the game will feature enhanced subscription options, which were previously available as a paid service, but will now be available for free.
You can sign up for the Wrath of the Lich King Classic beta via the official Blizzard website
The World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic beta, scheduled for release later this year, will be available for registration via the official Blizzard website. As with previous Classic versions, if you have a World of Warcraft subscription, you can enjoy this content at no additional cost.
