Microsoft has announced that the first Game Pass update in May 2022 will be an expansion.
As a reminder, NBA 2K22 is available on console (Xbox Series, Xbox One) and cloud, and Loot River (console, PC, cloud; ID@Xbox, i.e. indie game) has been available since yesterday. Trek to Yomi (console, PC, cloud; ID@Xbox) and Citizen Sleeper (console, PC, cloud; ID@Xbox) are coming on May 5. Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition (console, PC, cloud), Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising (console, PC, cloud), and This War of Mine: Final Cut (console, PC, cloud; ID@Xbox) will join on May 10, while NHL 22 (console, EA Play!) will be released on May 12.
Regarding updates and DLCs, the Dynasties of India DLC for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is available at a 10% discount. The second season of Halo Infinite’s free-to-play multiplayer, Lone Wolves, has also begun, while Stellaris has the Nemesis add-on and the 3.0 update (the former is available for purchase at a 10% discount). Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks include the Warmonger character in For Honor, the No-Brainerz Upgrade in Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, and the Pass Tense Gungoose bundle in Halo Infinite.
A sweepstake is happening: “Ultimate Game Pass members in select regions are eligible to win fantastic gaming prizes, from laptops and tablets to new consoles and TV setups! There’s an Ultimate Game Room Upgrade grand prize, and, in addition, there will be new prizes awarded each week from April 25, 2022, to May 25, 2022. Sign up here, and then once you sign up, just play Game Pass games on your console for one continuous hour to get an entry. One entry per day. Terms apply.
No purchase is necessary in US, CA & Northern Ireland. Open to the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, and Germany, ages 18 and older only, See Official Rules for how to enter without purchase for residents of US, CA and Northern Ireland. Enter by May 25, 2022,” Microsoft wrote.
Some games will also be leaving the service, so you can use your membership to keep them in our game library at a 20% discount. On 10 May, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition (console, cloud) will be leaving, while on 15 May, Enter The Gungeon (console, PC, cloud), Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster (console, PC), Remnant: From the Ashes (console, PC, cloud), Steep (console, cloud), The Catch: Carp and Coarse (console, PC, cloud), and The Wild at Heart (console, PC, cloud) will be out.
So this time around, many games are saying goodbye to the Redmond-based company’s subscription service, but there’s still time to catch up on any games we may have missed.
