After Horizon: Zero Dawn and God of War, Spider-Man: Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales are coming to PC.
We’ve been waiting for PC announcements at Sony’s State of Play, and lo and behold, PlayStation has confirmed a PC release for Marvel’s Spider-Man, sooner rather than later. Specifically, the game will be released on August 12 this year, in close collaboration between Insomniac Games and Nixxes Software, to land on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is also coming to PC later this fall.
No details about the adaptation have been shared yet, but based on the video description on YouTube, we’re guaranteed a fully optimized experience on PC.
This is thanks to the work of Nixxes Software, which was acquired by PlayStation last year precisely to help with this kind of adaptation. The multinational company has recently adapted several console-exclusive games for PC, with hits such as God of War and the yet-to-be-released Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.
Nixxes Software wants to create the best PC experience possible.
“I am extremely pleased with our collaboration with Insomniac on the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, the shared support provided between our teams and their dedication to quality above all is inspiring. It allows our team to leverage our technical expertise and focus on creating the best possible PC experience that takes advantage of all the exciting possibilities the PC platform has to offer. Our team has always been big fans of the work from Insomniac and partnering with them to bring Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales to PC in the best way we can is something we are incredibly excited about,” said Jurjen Katsman, Founder and Director of Development at Nixxes.
The game was initially released for PS4 in 2018 and subsequently remastered for PS5, from which this PC re-release will draw, along with DLCs.
Following this, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales was also released, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PS5 was also announced, with no confirmed release date yet.
