Scorn, the highly anticipated game from Ebb Software, draws inspiration from the designs of H.R. Giger to create a sinister atmosphere.
Scorn’s development has been dragging on longer than we’d hoped, but fans of H.R. Giger’s “biopunk” horror can finally mark the date on their calendars: October 21, 2022, the date the game will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox Game Pass.
If you haven’t heard of it yet, Scorn is a first-person horror adventure from Ebb Software, where you’ll be plunged into an unknown world and explore a nightmarish universe where each location has its own story, puzzles and spooky atmosphere.
In the new gameplay trailer, we meet some of the enemies straight out of our worst nightmares: creatures with tentacles that trap you, vast open spaces and gigantic monsters that watch overhead. If all this weren’t unsettling enough, the scene where our protagonist rips off his umbilical cord would be hard to forget.
Scorn will be released for PC, Xbox and Game Pass before Halloween.
“As players wake up isolated and lost in the living labyrinth of Scorn, they must protect themselves and find their way forward,” shared Ebb Software via a press release, “each deadly encounter must be carefully prepared for as ammo, health and all resources are limited.” To unravel the mystery of the world around them, players will solve intricate puzzles in search of answers, slowly unlocking the secrets of their own existence.
