MOVIE NEWS – Season 5 of Stranger Things won’t take as long to make as season 4, according to the Duffer brothers, who are already getting to work on the script.
The Duffer brothers promised that fans wouldn’t have to wait too long for Stranger Things Season 5, and it looks like they’re keeping their word: they’ve just announced that they plan to start writing the final season next month. As for the actual plot of Season 5, the Duffers have already got things planned, suggesting that the script writing shouldn’t take too long.
After Stranger Things Season 4 reached its dramatic conclusion with two full-length episodes, the Duffers want to finish the Upside Down story with another series of new episodes.
Having seemingly defeated the ‘main villain’ of the series, there are questions about exactly where the series can go from here, but the Duffers seem to have no such concerns as they prepare for the final episode. Ross Duffer spoke to Collider:
“We’re going to take a little vacation in July, and then we’re going to come back. I know that the writer’s room is going to start in that first week of August.”
While that’s good news, we should be prepared that it will probably be at least a few more years before Stranger Things returns and does something with the cliffhanger ending of Season 4. Depending on exactly how long the final season turns out to be, there could be a significant amount of filming to look forward to next year. With the special effects for the season finale only hours before the Netflix premiere, there are obviously a lot of visual elements to work on for what is sure to be a breathtaking finale to the series.
