While the PS5 version of The Last of Us: Part I will be released on September 2, Naughty Dog has not yet said anything about a PC release.
Joel and Ellie will be back in September with The Last of Us: Part I, a remake of the original title that, as we’ve seen from the official gameplay, improves the graphics in several ways. For now, all we know is that the title will be coming to PS5 in a few weeks, but Naughty Dog hasn’t shared any more information about the PC version.
“PC version should come out a bit later, but very soon after the PS5 release!” – Jonathan Benaino
This brings us to a recent post by lead environmental texture designer Jonathan Benaino, whose Twitter comment renews hopes for a PC release of The Last of Us: Part I: “PC version should come out a bit later, but very soon after the PS5 release!”
As expected, Naughty Dog hasn’t officially shared a specific date, but there’s no doubt that this could whip up the enthusiasm of those who want to play Joel and Ellie’s first adventure on PC. For now, we’ll be keeping an eye on the developer’s social media for an announcement of a PC release date for The Last of Us: Part I.
It’s worth noting that the PS5 version will be released on September 2, so there’s not much time left to prepare for Naughty Dog’s latest creation.
After all, one of the animators of The Last of Us: Part I defends the remake by saying it’s the tiniest project he’s ever seen, which explains why the game takes up more than twice as much space as the original.
