CINEMA NEWS -Jordan Peele’s new movie, Nope, is a big success, and Universal studio has put together a new, final trailer full of spoilers.
Previously, the strategy was that the trailers contained only vague hints, it was impossible to figure out exactly what the film was about. Now they follow the exact opposite method: the trailer is full of specific quotes, because the goal is to make those who have already seen the film watch it again (this is also the password of the trailer: See It Again). In the meantime, of course, they don’t hide the fact that it would be good if those who haven’t seen Nope also go to the cinema, since it will be available on DVD when it runs out and after. However, one of the film’s big trump cards is the spectacle, which, according to the director, is worth seeing in IMAX format.
The heroes of Nope experience a strange aerial phenomenon in the California desert and track it down – to their loss. In accordance with Peele’s good habit, the film is both a well-tailored homage to the genre and a sharp social critique, with great acting.
In the meantime, the secretary of one of the directors came to light. Back in 2014, Peele tweeted about having a nightmare that woke him up crying. (We won’t spoil what he dreamed.) He incorporated this dream into Nope and even became one of its central elements. The move was spotted by a fan who dug up the post from years ago. Peele then said that he had long since forgotten this nightmare, but it must have been so deeply burned into his brain that he wrote it into the new script.
(Nope – from Thursday in Hungarian cinemas!)
