Hulu’s Hellraiser Reboot Must Be Tough – It’s R-Rated!

MOVIE NEWS – Hulu isn’t holding back with its upcoming Hellraiser reboot, starring Jamie Clayton as the new incarnation of Pinhead.

Not exactly the most shocking news, but the upcoming Hellraiser movie has an R rating. The film, which will be available on the Hulu streaming channel sometime later this year, has officially been given an R rating due to the usual factors (violence, blood, horror, nudity, and sexual content).

Fans may have mixed thoughts on this reboot, as there have been ten previous films, and many fans may feel that a new instalment adds nothing to the franchise.

However, the new remake has one difference that may appeal to fans of the original film, and that is that it has Clive Barker’s approval and involvement. Barker, who produced the film, regained the rights to Hellraiser last year. He also said that he was pleased with the film and tweeted that it was very faithful to the original novel.

“Having seen some of the designs from David Bruckner’s new Hellraiser film, they pay homage to what the first film created, but then take it to places it’s never been before,” Barker said in a statement.

“This is a Hellraiser on a scale that I simply didn’t expect. David and his team are steeped in the story’s mythology, but what excites me is their desire to honor the original even as they revolutionize it for a new generation.”

Developed by Spyglass for Hulu, the new Hellraiser is directed by Bruckner, written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, with a story by David S. Goyer. The film stars Jamie Clayton as Pinhead and also stars Brandon Flynn, Goran Visnjic, Drew Starkey, Adam Faison, Aoife Hinds, Hiam Abbass and Selina Lo.

The film is set to debut on Hulu sometime in 2022, with an exact premiere date not yet announced. It follows the recent debut of Prey, the latest instalment in the Predator franchise, which debuted to incredible success on the streaming platform. We may soon see more horror reboots and sequels on Hulu.
