A new Ghostbusters game from the developers of Friday 13th and Predator: Hunting Grounds is just around the corner…

All versions of the promising Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed – PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC – are now available for pre-order via the Epic Games Store. IllFonic had previously promised more information at Gamescom next week, but they couldn’t wait to make a significant announcement before then.

“The reaction from fans has blown us away,” said Charles Brungardt, CEO of IllFonic. “Putting a date on and opening up preorders for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed feels like an out of body experience, and we cannot wait for everyone to feel the same sensation on Tuesday, October 18.”

Unlike IllFonic’s previous games, where the goal is to escape, in Spirits Unleashed, the human team will fight and capture a player-controlled spirit while overcoming its pranks. The spirit can possess objects to hide in plain sight, fly and teleport between crevices, slow the team down with slime, and summon several minions.

Spirits Unleashed comes with quite a few maps, including a museum, an abandoned prison and more. Other iconic Ghostbusters locations, including the Firehouse, will also be included.

With digital pre-order, players will have access to Slimer, a unique Particle Thrower and Proton Pack, as well as special clothing strips.
