Gotham Knights: Will We Have To Complete It Several Times For The Full Story?!

Four characters, four perspectives and four separate stories in each mission are waiting for us in Gotham Knights.

Each of the four characters in Gotham Knights will have their own path through the story: if you want to know everything, you’ll need to play through it several times. Each character will have their own perspective on the events of any given mission, which, while similar, will contain unique storylines and subtle differences.

All of this is revealed via an interview with WB Games Montreal game director Geoff Ellenor and film director Wilson Mui in the latest issue of PLAY Magazine (they also talk about Nightwing’s butt, which is surely a vital topic.)

“We actually made four [stories], not just one!” said Mui.

Ellenor continued by saying, “You will not see all of it in a single playthrough. Just because there’s so much content that is unique to the hero’s perception of what’s going on and what’s happened.

Ahogy a készítők fogalmaztak, a Gotham Knights-ban tűnik majd fel "Gotham legnagyobb verziója, amely eddig videojátékokban szerepelt".

As a film director, Mui was undoubtedly involved in making each mission unique for each hero. “Structurally, we’re gonna have a very similar scene that overall falls in the flow for each character, but each character has their own version of that,” he said. Each character’s version will be different because they move, speak and behave differently and have their own history with the other characters they meet.

“If you were to look and play Batgirl, you’re gonna get Batgirl’s version,” Mui said, “but if you play Robin, you’re gonna get Robin’s version of that same scene. Some of them are very similar in how they do it, but they’re gonna have little subtle differences.”

Gotham Knights is a cooperative action game set in the Batman universe, but Batman can’t be found – he’s dead.

This means that vigilante justice in Gotham is meted out by his descendants: a team of Batfamily sidekicks made up of Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin. The story is clearly all about the supporting cast, and while we’ve already seen Harley Quinn, the developers have confirmed that neither Batman nor the Joker will appear in Gotham Knights.
