Google Has Finally Revealed Pixel 7 & 7 Pro Phones!

TECH NEWS – Following a tease earlier this year, Google reveals details of new and improved features on the upcoming Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

Google has announced its two latest mainline products, the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. The megacompany also revealed some new information about the evolution of the Pixel lineup, as well as a surprising decision.

Back in May, at Google’s I/O 2022 annual developer conference, the public got a glimpse of the back of the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro.

Now, the company has lifted the lid on both the Pixel 7 and its big brother, the Pixel 7 Pro, and is giving fans more details about the pair. The phones will get Google’s Tensor G2, the company’s own processor, and the Titan M2 chip, which is meant to improve user data security. Surprisingly, Google has also revealed that the new phones will come with their own built-in VPN (a virtual private network) at no extra cost.

This is an interesting choice because the company previously released its own VPN back in 2020, but then for a fee of $10.99/month, and that release came with a different set of perks. Google has not hinted whether Pixel 7 users will get the same discounts.

The new phones also boast several other features and improvements over their predecessors. The 7 and 7 Pro will have better cameras that can capture a broader range of skin tones more accurately and will be better suited to taking selfies at night. The selfie camera will also include facial recognition software, allowing users to unlock the devices. This will be coupled with a fingerprint scanner under the display for greater security.

The phones will also feature an extreme battery-saving mode, which Google says can extend battery life up to 72 hours when used. The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will also have Clear Calling. The feature will use machine learning to reduce background noise and improve call quality.

Google is doubling down on privacy and security among the list of new and improved features.

This is something that the company’s direct competitor Apple has always prioritised with its products. The Titan M2 chip, built-in VPN, facial recognition and fingerprint scanner all strongly emphasise security, which many fans will likely welcome.

It’s now the season for phone launches, with the Apple iPhone 14 already here and the Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro on the horizon. With the 7 priced at $599 and the 7 Pro at $899, fans will soon be able to see for themselves how the two tech giants compare.

The Pixel family of phones is available for pre-order now, with shipments starting on October 13.
