Star Trek: Resurgence Won’t Launch In 2022!

Dramatic Labs has also joined the developers who have moved their game’s release date from 2022 to 2023.

Previously, the Star Trek game was scheduled to be released in late 2022, but the studio has pushed it back to April 2023. However, in a statement on Twitter, the studio explained why they needed a few extra months: ” The team at Dramatic Labs would like to update you on the progress of Star Trek: Resurgence. Production has been advancing all summer steadily, but we have made the difficult decision to move our release date out of 2022 to give the game a final coat of polish and create a genuinely immersive Star Trek experience.

We plan to release Star Trek: Resurgence in April 2023 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Our love and admiration for Star Trek are instrumental to this decision. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, and this continues to be a passion project for everyone here. We are incredibly grateful – and excited – to be able to work within a universe that means so much to so many. We can’t wait for you to see it all and look forward to taking you on an adventure unlike any Star Trek game that’s come before,” the studio wrote.

Several of the former Telltale Games developers are working on the game, so the unique, interactive narrative experience will be unlike anything offered by, say, Star Trek, which was released a decade ago, around 2013. Instead, we get a story set shortly after the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Dramatic Labs has summarised what to expect from the controllable characters: “Players will assume the role of two principal characters, first officer Jara Rydek and engineering ensign Carter Diaz, as they unravel a sinister mystery involving two civilizations on the brink of war. Players will immerse themselves in the Star Trek universe, interacting with new and returning characters through various dialogue choices and action gameplay to determine the course of the story.”

Star Trek: Resurgence is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
