MOVIE NEWS – Elijah Wood, Frodo from The Lord of the Rings, would love to co-star with Daniel Radcliffe in a film where the two actors play each other.
Recently, Daniel Radcliffe indicated that he would like to star in such a project. Now that Elijah Wood is on board with the idea, there’s no way around it; the film should happen soon. Previously, Radcliffe had named Wood as an obvious choice as an actor who could play him if he ever got a biopic. He envisages the two of them “swapping”. Given that, even many Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings fans often confuse Radcliffe and Wood.
Recently, TMZ caught up with Wood and asked him about Radcliffe’s comments. It’s clear that Wood would love to do a film like this, with Radcliffe playing him and him playing the Harry Potter star. Here is what Wood said when asked if he would be willing to swap places with Radcliffe in a film.
“Amazing. The old switcheroo? Sure. Daniel’s the best.”
Radcliffe has said before that he is sometimes mistaken for Wood. At such times, he finds himself agreeing to it so as not to ruin the experience for the fan. Wood says he has been mistaken for Radcliffe “many, many times”. However, he doesn’t play the other one the same way, saying he never signed Radcliffe’s name. In any case, Wood reiterates that he would be happy to do the supposed film. If only to be in a movie with Radcliffe. As he said when asked again:
“Sure! I would just love to work with him. He’s just a lovely human being.”
Recently, Radcliffe’s involvement in a new biopic has raised these questions. He plays the legendary parodist “Weird Al” Yankovic in Roku’s new film WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story, which has been a hit with audiences. The concept of bizarre biopics like this one led to the controversy over Wood being cast as Radcliffe in a biopic, as the fan buzz made it seem only natural.
Even if the idea remains just an idea, it would still be nice to see the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter star in a film together.
WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story is now available on Roku.
