Zendaya Could Have An Even Bigger Role In Dune: Part Two?!

MOVIE NEWS – Given the importance of her character, we rightly expect more for Zendaya in the second act of Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Dune.

One of the big hits of 2021 was when Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Dune opened in cinemas. The film was well-received by audiences and critics and grossed a respectable $400 million at the box office during the pandemic.

The film, starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Stellan Skarsgård, Josh Brolin and Javier Barden, was almost immediately greenlit for a sequel.

Fans can rejoice as Zendaya’s character in Dune: Part Two is now given a more prominent role, unlike the limited screen time in the first part.

Chalamet recently spoke to People, who confirmed that the actress will be featured more in the sequel, calling her “a partner and a sister and a friend.” The actor said, “She hasn’t wrapped yet, and it’s amazing. She’s bringing exactly what she brought to the first one – which was incredible – but in greater abundance.”

Chalamet continues, “I’m so grateful to count her as a partner and a sister and a friend.” Their relationship may become even closer on screen in the sequel. His character Paul Atreides has finally crossed paths with Chani, played by Zendaya. Her character acts as narrator in the first film and is only briefly seen in Paul’s visions. However, Chani will play a significant role in the story to come. Fans can expect to see Chalamet, Zendaya and more when Dune: Part Two hits cinemas in November 2023.

As for Chalamet, fans will next see the actor in Bones and All alongside Taylor Russell.

We follow his character as he learns how to survive on the fringes of society due to his cannibalistic tendencies. The film is due in cinemas later this month on 23 November. Next year, Chalamet will play a young Willy Wonka in the title film, Wonka. The film will follow his character as he encounters his grandfather-in-law during one of his earliest adventures. Wonka will arrive in cinemas shortly after the sequel to Dune on 15 December 2023.
