Gran Turismo 7: The Free December Update Arrives Today! [VIDEO]

Gran Turismo 7 gets five new cars and a new location for Scapes in this month’s free 1.27 update.

Polyphony Digital is releasing a free update for Gran Turismo 7 that adds new content. Players can get five new cars and enjoy a new location to use in the game’s photo mode, Scapes.

Gran Turismo 7 is the latest addition to the iconic racing series and was released in March 2022.

Upon its release, the game generally received positive reviews, but many players were outraged by the amount and scale of microtransactions present in the game.

Update 1.27 for Gran Turismo 7 will be released today, December 15. It will bring five new cars to the game, the first of which is the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo. The Ferrari Vision will be available for in-game purchase from Brand Central from December 23. However, players who correctly answered the Day 4 question of the World Finals “Viewers Gift” will be able to get their hands on one on December 15. The update will also add the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm ’20, Bugatti Chiron ’16, Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray ’20 and Toyota Celica GT-FOUR Rally Car (ST205) ’95 to the racing game. Finally, Norway will also be included in GT 7’s photo mode as a location for players to use.

Adding Norway’s beautiful scenery to the photo mode is a smart move. The graphics in the game are outstanding, so the more stunning areas players can use to show off their excellent cars, the better.

Free updates are rarely harmful, and after Gran Turismo 7’s microtransactions caused a backlash among fans, players should continue to get quality free content, which is essential to keep them happy and to play the game.

While this may seem like a minor update, players will get more new vehicles than has been the case with recent updates to the game. The addition of Ferrari Vision also seems like a big deal. After all, this is Ferrari’s first virtual motorsport concept car. The vehicle was designed specifically for GT 7 and didn’t exist in the real world.

Of course, the aggressive microtransactions and high price of the rare cars in Gran Turismo 7 may have turned some gamers away from the game for good. However, if quality free content continues to appear, there is an opportunity to bring some players back and keep dedicated fans of the series happy.
