Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will feature fast travel, a highly requested feature of Fallen Order.
Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will include fast travel, as well as other crossing options to get from point A to point B faster. While Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was very well received, it was not without its critics. In particular, the lack of fast travel was a disappointment for many Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order players. Respawn has taken the opportunity to ensure that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor does not have the same problem.
For the most part, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order players who have progressed through the game in a relatively normal manner shouldn’t have too much of a problem with the lack of fast travel. This became a problem when players wanted to go the extra step and try to complete 100% of the game, collect all collectibles, or otherwise explore every nook and cranny of the game. Players overcame the lack of fast travel by returning to the singing locust with repeated deaths, but the journey could still be painful.
Respawn Entertainment says the journey should be much smoother in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. In an interview in the forthcoming issue of Play Magazine, game director Stig Asmussen shares some news about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Asmussen explains that the upcoming release will feature a point-to-point fast travel system, similar to what is often common in open world or large map area modern games.
Asmussen confirms that fast travel is not the only option that will be included in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. According to Asmussen, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will also feature mounts, creatures that can be ridden between points. This means that players will not only be able to ride a horse from point A to point B, but will also be able to quickly ride back to point A and vice versa. Finding collectibles will be much easier.
It’s unfortunate, of course, that players will have to wait a little longer to experience the new traversal features of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for themselves. EA recently confirmed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been delayed by six weeks and will now be released on April 28. Unfortunately, there is no fast-travel option to make it arrive earlier than April.
While Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will have to wait that much longer, it seems Respawn Entertainment is doing everything they can to make the game worth the wait. The sequel to Star Wars Jedi, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, will be a next-gen console exclusive, allowing for big improvements in graphics settings and load times. Specifically, the improvement in load times may be due to the fact that fast travel is now possible.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released on April 28 for PC, PS4 and Xbox Series X/S.
