MOVIE NEWS – Keanu Reeves has confirmed that he has been in talks with James Gunn about the upcoming Constantine 2 sequel, which is currently in development at DC Studios.
Warner Bros. Discovery, DC Studios has confirmed that a sequel to 2005’s Constantine is still in development. The original film, based on the DC Comics character John Constantine, starred Keanu Reeves as a supernatural detective who hunts demons and other mystical entities. The film was a cult classic that has built a strong fanbase over the years, leading to renewed interest in a possible sequel. However, the development of a shared cinematic universe planned by DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran has left fans unsure whether Constantine 2 will ever materialise.
Although few details have been released about Constantine 2, Keanu Reeves recently confirmed in a Reddit AMA that he has been in talks with James Gunn about the project.

Warner Bros has announced that acclaimed writer Akiva Goldsman has returned to the studio. Her first major project will be the highly anticipated Constantine 2 sequel. Keanu Reeves will reprise his role as the occult detective John Constantine, with Francis Lawrence returning to the director’s chair. Goldsman will also produce alongside J.J. Abrams and Hannah Minghella.
In an interview with Deadline, Goldsman spoke about his approach to writing the highly anticipated Constantine sequel. Goldsman acknowledged the unique world-building that made the first film a success. He expressed his desire to keep these creative and atmospheric details in the upcoming project and incorporate them into a new story. Goldsman also praised Keanu Reeves’ portrayal of John Constantine, stating that the character is very much Keanu.
“The character is very much Keanu and the way he and Francis saw the world of good and evil, and the wonderful and authentic noir where there is a world behind the world of good and evil coexist with our world right up close.”
“Beyond that, we are still discovering it as I am writing the script.”
Keanu Reeves is back as John Constantine, with Peter Stormare likely to return as Lucifer. Another thrilling supernatural adventure awaits on stage. No details on the plot or release date for Constantine 2 are yet available.
