The latest free download for PlayStation is a surprise, especially as they usually charge for this kind of content.

Here’s a piece of good news. It seems a great free content bundle has been added to the PlayStation Store for everyone to enjoy. In fact, it’s a particularly timely discovery if you’re a PS Plus subscriber, but that’s not a requirement.

Allow me to quickly explain why this might be of interest to you PS Plus subscribers. The April basic level offering of the subscription service has just been unveiled. These include Sackboy: A Big Adventure, as well as Meet Your Maker and Tails of Iron, which were released on day one. You can download these titles from yesterday (4 April).

The free download is for Sackboy: The Big Adventure, so if you’re a PS Plus subscriber, you’ll have fresh access to this title, but the download is also available to those who simply already own the game.

Reddit user kabirsingh84 has pointed out that there are a total of 48 free Sackboy: The Big Adventure DLC add-ons on the PlayStation Store. These are essentially skins for popular PS characters. He wrote: “Sackboy: A Big Adventure has a whole bunch of free costume add-ons on the store. These include popular characters like Kratos, Ellie, Aloy, Ratchet and many more. Go to Sackboy and scroll down to Add-Ons on the store for a total of 48 free add-ons.” There’s also Nate, Sylens, a Fall Guy and Abby – to name just a few extras.

There is no time limit on their availability. It’s a fun way to personalise Sackboy: A Big Adventure. As a fan of The Last of Us, I bet many people will download a little Ellie (or even Abby…) to use in the game. Needless to say, PlayStation users were delighted with the discovery. Another Redditor, Poklane, wrote: “Props to Sony for making these free when plenty of other publishers would no doubt charge $2.99 for a bundle.” It is very good to see such moves, isn’t it?
