Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: Was The High Republic Connection Established Four Years Ago?!

A Star Wars Jedi: Survivor story trailer has confirmed the game series’ connection to the High Republic era. But Fallen Order already revealed all this in 2019…

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor confirmed its connection to the High Republic with a story trailer. However, the game’s predecessor, Jedi: Fallen Order, hinted at this four years ago. The High Republic was a golden age for both the Jedi Order and the Republic, lasting from roughly BBY 500 to BBY 100. Those who lived under the Empire have fond memories of this era. It’s an era that haunts Cal Kestis in Jedi: Survivor, but it seems to have reared its head earlier in Jedi: Fallen Order.

The first hint of the Jedi: Survivor High Republic connection came in the teaser trailer, which showed the mysterious Echani suspended in a bacta tank.

In time, it was revealed that this character is a Jedi of the High Republic era, as he wears a golden cloak emblazoned with the crest of the age and a double-bladed lightsaber. Cal may have hoped that this new character would join him in Jedi: Survivor. But it looks like the two will be enemies. The same story trailer that confirmed the connection revealed that the mysterious Jedi blames Cal for the rise of the Empire. All of this shows that even the golden age of the High Republic is hostile to Cal’s present.

Could the Nameless return in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor?!

Only Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order had similarly dark ties to the High Republic era. This hinted at one of the most terrifying threats a Jedi could ever face. When Cal visits Kujet’s tomb on Dathomir, he finds the skeletons of the Zeffos who did live there long ago. However, the remains turn to dust when touched. These remains suggest that these Zeffos were killed by none other than the Nameless. This is a species that preys on and feeds on the Force-sensitive.

By the time of Jedi: Survivor, the Nameless had essentially become mythical creatures; however, in the High Republic era, they were used to destroy the Jedi Order.

Given that the Nameless Ones were a significant threat in previous eras, it is conceivable that they could make an appearance in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The High Republic ended only about 70 years before the events of Jedi: Fallen Order. The Nameless were still spoken of during the fall of the Republic. This could mean that the Nameless not only still exist but are available to the Empire. As @HupablomSW’s tweet shows, the Nameless can scare their prey to death just by being near them. So they can significantly help the Empire in its efforts to kill or obscure the Jedi.
