Steven Spielberg Reveals How He Felt After Test Screening Indiana Jones 5 [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – Steven Spielberg reviewed Indiana Jones 5 and talked about what he would say if someone else directed the franchise.

Steven Spielberg reviewed Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny after a preview screening for Disney executives. These comments come after months of fan outcry and concerns about the changing of the guard.

The Indiana Jones franchise originally began with 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark and follows the adventures of archaeology professor Dr. Henry Walton “Indiana” Jones, Jr. as he finds himself at the centre of an exciting and dangerous plot involving intriguing artefacts.

The announcement of the new film in 2020 was met with a mixed reception. While some people were excited to see what a new director could bring to the Indiana Jones franchise, others wondered how anyone else could fill the legendary director’s shoes. Now Spielberg has come forward with his thoughts on Indiana Jones 5. Speaking at the Time 100 Summit, Spielberg said he had seen the film two days earlier. “Bob Iger had a screening for a lot of the Disney executives, and I came to the screening along with the director James Mangold,” the legendary director explained. “Everybody loved the movie. It’s really, really a good Indiana Jones film. I’m really proud of what Jim has done with it.”

Spielberg, who is currently working on a documentary about his old friend John Williams, also said that after the screening, he turned to the audience and exclaimed, “Damn! I thought I was the only one who knew how to make one of these.” The film will be the final adventure of Dr Jones (at least the version played by Hollywood legend Harrison Ford).

Indiana Jones 5 adds a number of new faces to the franchise’s cast, including Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, Boyd Holbrook, Ethann Isidore and Mads Mikkelsen.

The pressure is on for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The majority want it to have a happy ending. Or rather, it would solve some of the problems of the previous films. For example, confirm what happened to Mutt Williams, played by Shai LeBeouf. Especially as the character does not appear in this last part. Devoted fans have always formed opinions about certain aspects of the franchise, they probably won’t miss their hero’s swan song.
