The sounds also contribute to creating fear: we can hear the whimpering of zombies, the creaking of the ship and the rumbling of the storm. The game’s music was composed by Tom Salta, and Marilyn Manson added a song from his 2003 album.

Cold Fear received mixed reviews upon release, with many comparing it to Resident Evil 4. Although critics were generally impressed with the setting and opening cutscenes, they felt that the game was too short and could not sustain its promising start.
