Tom Cruise Reveals How Long He Wants To Keep Making Mission: Impossible Movies!

MOVIE NEWS – Tom Cruise has expressed his respect for what his older colleague is doing in Harrison Ford’s recent Indiana Jones role.

Veteran actor Harrison Ford is returning to the big screen for his fifth and final outing as Indiana Jones, and Tom Cruise is appreciative. Ford, who turns 81 this month, is starring in the new film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Cruise celebrated his 61st birthday on Monday at the Australian premiere of Mission: Impossible 7. At the event, held for the Sydney Morning Herald, Cruise praised Ford for keeping the legendary actor going even at 80. He then noted that he hopes to make similar sequels to his films when he is that age.

“Harrison Ford is a legend; I hope to be still going; I’ve got 20 years to catch up with him,” as Cruise put it.

“I hope to keep making Mission: Impossible films until I’m his age.”

After Top Gun: Maverick drew crowds to theatres last year, Cruise hopes to do the same with the Mission: Impossible sequel. The actor recalls growing up and loving going to the cinema. He makes his films with the idea that they will only be shown in cinemas. Other big summer movies are also of great interest to him, and he revealed that he wants to see Oppenheimer and Barbie.

“I grew up seeing movies on the big screen. That’s how I make them, and I like that experience; it’s immersive, and to have that as a community and an industry, it’s important,” Cruise says. “I still go to the movies… I want to see both Barbie and Oppenheimer. I’ll see them opening weekend. Friday I’ll see Oppenheimer first and then Barbie on Saturday.”
