Will Wonder Woman 3 Be Made After All?! Gal Gadot Has Spoken!

MOVIE NEWS – Gal Gadot’s DC universe future takes a shocking turn. The actress has revealed that she’s back in the works on Wonder Woman 3!

Gal Gadot has confirmed that Wonder Woman 3 is happening. The star and James Gunn are working together to bring the DC Universe movie to life. The revelation comes months after news broke that the film had been cancelled due to creative differences with Wonder Woman franchise director Patty Jenkins quitting the project. Gadot’s future as Princess Diana has been up in the air ever since. But now it looks like she will return in the rebooted DC universe.

Speaking to Comicbook.com, Gadot confirmed that she had heard from DC Studios co-CEOs Gunn and Peter Safran that she would be developing WW3 with them. The actress has spoken of her love for the character, saying Diana is “near and dear to [her] heart”. Gadot then shared the big reveal that Wonder Woman 3 is back in development, and she’s working alongside Gunn and Safran on it. There was no mention of the original director, Jenkins.

“I love portraying Wonder Woman. It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together.”

With Wonder Woman 3 back in development, Gadot has a future in the new DC universe. The first feature film in the shared universe led by Gunn and Safran will be 2025’s Superman: Legacy. It will be written and directed by Gunn. David Corenswet will take over the role of Superman from Henry Cavill in the DCEU. (Gunn wants to start the new universe with a younger version of Man of Steel.)

Superman: Legacy will also feature several DC heroes. Among them is the announced Green Lantern, Guy Gardner. Also, Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl and Metamorpho. The film may also feature other heroes not yet announced. Gadot’s Wonder Woman may also appear in the movie following the new development. This could explain her role in the new DCU, her relationship with Corenswet’s Superman, and set the stage for Part 3 of the DC Universe’s Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman 3 is unlikely to be the first project based on the character in the new DC Universe. The prequel series Paradise Lost on Max has been in the works for some time.

The latter focuses on the Amazons of Themyscira in the years before Diana was born. Paradise Lost could set the stage for WW3 and showcase a corner of the DC universe that is more rooted in Greek mythology than the two Wonder Woman films, which were a big complaint about Gadot’s time as the character. This would give WW3 a solid foundation, separating itself from the DCEU.
