There won’t be many copies, so THQ Nordic is putting together a limited collector’s edition of Pieces Interactive’s game.
Only 5,000 copies of the collector’s edition of Alone In The Dark are being made, and you can pre-order it for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC on Amazon. Let’s go into what’s included in the bundle. First, we get a copy of the game on disc (on PC, too!), then a The Dark Man statue (about 26 cm tall, ten inches), a steelbook, an Ostadte miniature (this one is about 10 cm tall, or four inches), but there’s also a Do Not Disturb! door hanger, a Derceto 1030 sticker set, and with the collector’s edition DLC, we get the developer commentary mode, the vintage horror filter pack, and the 1992 Derceto costume set.
The collector’s editions are numbered. The first 20 are available from THQ Nordic’s Vienna store, #21-#4999 are the international versions available from THQ Nordic’s online store or Amazon, and #5000 goes to the Embracer Games Archive. Alone in the Dark will also be released on disc for PC (many, many people could learn from THQ Nordic’s example!), but only 3,500 copies will be produced. The first 20 copies will again be accessible via THQ Nordic’s Vienna store, #21-#3499 will be available from international stores and THQ Nordic’s online shop, and #3500 will again be part of the Embracer archive. At least they take game preservation seriously.
THQ Nordic has also produced a video of the collector’s edition. Overseas, the console edition will cost $200, so presumably, it will be €200 (and on PC, it might be €10 cheaper). The Alone in the Dark reboot will be available on October 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (Steam, GOG).
