PlayStation Plus has announced 17 new free games for August 2023, including some classic original PlayStation titles.
The free games for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers didn’t do so well, but the fresh batch of games for Extra and Premium subscribers is a real step forward.
Before we dive in, here’s a round-up of what subscribers can currently get with the Essential tier – PGA Tour 2K23, Dreams and Death’s Door. I’d say it’s a pretty good line-up, especially the incredible Death’s Door, but it’s not going to be enough for everyone.
Hopefully, the Extra and Premium games will be a little more prevalent in August. On Tuesday 15 August, PS Plus Extra subscribers got Moving Out 2, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, Lost Judgment, Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed, Two Point Hospital: Jumbo Edition, Source Of Madness, Cursed To Golf, Dreams, PJ Masks: Heroes Of The Night, Hotel Transylvania: Scary-Tale Adventures, Lawn Mowing Simulator: Landmark Edition, Spellforce III Reforced and Midnight Fight Express. But that’s not all.
Extra subscribers will also be able to download and play the soon-to-be-released retro-inspired RPG Sea Of Stars on 29 August, the day the game launches!
It looks set to be one of the best games of 2023, so make sure you don’t miss it.
Meanwhile, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will have access to the following classics. MediEvil: Resurrection, Ape Escape: On The Loose and Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice. I have to say; it’s a really strong bunch of games. Especially MediEvil: Resurrection, a series I have fond memories of from the 90s.
