MOVIE NEWS – The director of “Thor: Love and Thunder”, Taika Waititi, has shared that he already has ideas about what would happen with Thor and other characters in a potential fifth installment. While the movie hasn’t received a green light from Marvel yet, Waititi believes there’s still more to tell in the world of these superheroes.

Though Taika Waititi’s “Thor: Ragnarök” garnered mixed reactions from audiences, it’s undeniable that he portrayed the God of Thunder with a fresh perspective, infusing the character with humor and a sense of lightness. However, “Love and Thunder” didn’t meet expectations, leading many fans to wonder about the direction the character would take under the director’s guidance in subsequent movies. Nevertheless, Waititi has several ideas in mind for the next, namely the fifth Thor film.

The director discussed the project in the soon-to-be-released “Marvel’s Thor 4: Love and Thunder Movie Special Book”. An excerpt from Screen Rant reads: “What new challenge can we set before our hero? We need to find a dilemma that promotes character growth while entertaining and facing new tests. We need an adversary who’s at least as formidable as Hela. We need to raise the stakes and introduce an even more terrifying antagonist,” commented Waititi.

Waititi feels that “Thor 5” should delve back into Thor’s mythological roots. He’s curious to see how Thor would confront newer and even more mesmerizing creatures and adversaries, staying true to both the comics and Nordic mythology. Waititi has grand visions: he wants to introduce bolder beings and alien entities in the fifth Thor installment from various bizarre dimensions. In his view, Thor’s defining trait is his curious and fearless spirit of exploration, having journeyed to numerous places. In his new adventures, he’d explore more worlds and won’t back down from new threats.

At present, Marvel hasn’t officially announced the making of “Thor 5”, and due to current labor disputes, all planned projects are on hold. Nonetheless, Chris Hemsworth is ready to tackle new challenges.
