MOVIE NEWS – Now Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington, has shared his bittersweet feelings as the final season of Stranger Things approaches on Netflix.
Joe Keery, best known for his portrayal of Steve Harrington in the beloved Stranger Things series, has spoken about the complex mix of emotions he is experiencing as the series nears its highly anticipated conclusion. As season five is marked as the final chapter of the Netflix sensation, Keery shared her feelings in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily. Reflecting on the upcoming finale, she admitted that it was bittersweet to say goodbye to a project that has played a pivotal role in shaping her career.
“It does feel like it’s time. It won’t be easy for it to end,” Keery said.
“I mean, I owe my whole career to being on that show and all the opportunities that I had since are because of that show.”
“So it’s very convoluted. There’s a sense of relief, there’s a sense of sadness. I guess my goal is to just really soak it up as much as I can while we’re doing it, and not take any of it for granted because it’s been an amazing ride with such great people. And then once it’s done, move forward and try to just hold on to the joy that we had when we were making it…. Everything has a beginning and the middle and an end. It’ll be nice to have the end of this too.”
Millie Bobby Brown also previously shared her thoughts on the end of the series. She drew an analogy between this significant turning point and a graduation, stressing that she is grateful for the transformative journey. At the same time, she welcomed the exciting prospect of charting her own path beyond the iconic character that propelled her career forward.
Production on Stranger Things season 5 has been halted due to industry strikes
Stranger Things burst onto the entertainment scene in 2016. It captured the hearts of audiences with a combination of 80s sci-fi nostalgia and timeless storytelling. Created by the Duffer brothers, the series weaves together elements reminiscent of beloved classics like Back to the Future and Alien. Not only did it resonate with those who treasured these cinematic gems, but it also found a strong connection with a fresh generation of viewers. As excitement builds for the next season, exciting details have emerged. Jamie Campbell Bower returns as Vecna, who hails from the mysterious realm of the Upside Down. Vecna’s involvement promises to be a fascinating development, especially with Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown).
However, amidst the anticipation, a major hurdle has arisen: filming of the fifth season has been unexpectedly challenged by ongoing industry strikes.
These disruptions led to a temporary halt in both writing and filming. This setback has been acknowledged by the dedicated creative team, the Duffer brothers, who have previously expressed their enthusiasm to work with the talented cast and crew as soon as circumstances allow.
