TECH NEWS – Valve’s Steam Deck and Asus’s ROG Ally could be gearing up for a new rival with some relatively powerful hardware to enter the market.
We’ve recently written about the Lenovo Legion Go, which is looking to attract attention not only by having modern hardware but also by being able to be used with AR glasses so it could stand out in a growing market (thanks to the success of Steam Deck). There’s no official announcement of the Lenovo Legion Go yet, but we’ve learned a few things from Windows Report.
According to the site, Lenovo will sell the handheld PC for €/$800. The Lenovo Legion Go is scheduled to be unveiled on September 1 and available from October. The IPS display is 8.8″ (22.35 cm), with QHD resolution, but it will have a touchpad, 16 gigabytes of memory, and a battery that charges up pretty fast. Buyers don’t just get the device; they’ll also get an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription for three months (about €/$45-50).
Windows Report has also reported on other Lenovo accessories, but for now, we’ll just talk about the Lenovo Legion AR glasses. So we already knew about its existence, but not about the price. According to the site, Lenovo will charge €/$500 for it. You can use it with any USB Type-C capable device. We can also mention the earphones, which are a bit incomprehensible, as Lenovo will charge €/$50 for them. We also hear that this will be available in October.
It remains to be seen how well the Lenovo Legion Go will be able to compete with Asus and Valve, but since it will be running Windows 11 and will come with an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU, its performance should be excellent. We’ll see shortly, as its launch isn’t that far off.
